Events over the last few years, with the advent of outsourcing and offshoring, have generated many articles, news stories and prophecies about the end of the programming profession here in the United States. Recent research, however, tells a different story. This paper details some of that research that shows demand for application development skills is still alive and well in the States and will be for some time to come.
